Frequently Asked Questions
Still figuring out if this is right for you? The most common questions are here. Anything else, your care team is one message away.
Do I need health insurance to start?
No. Tuyo does not bill insurance for hair loss treatment. Finasteride is $18/month, Minoxidil is $26/month, shipping is free, and there are no surprise copays.
What are the side effects, really?
For Finasteride, the most reported are reduced sex drive, weaker erections, and lower semen volume. In real-world studies, side effects show up in roughly 1 to 4% of men, only slightly above placebo. Your doctor screens for risk factors before prescribing and stays in touch with you. If you stop the medication, side effects usually resolve.
What if it does not work for me?
If your hair is not responding by month 3, your doctor adjusts the protocol, often by switching from a single medication to a combination, or by changing the dose. Adjustments do not cost extra. And if you do not qualify in the first place, the evaluation is free.
